Barack Hussein Obama
What’s in a name?! http://www.cnn.com/video/player/player.html?url=/video/moos/2006/12/11/moos.obama.not.osama.affl&wm=10
Euphemism, brevity, novelty, or tactical clandestiny there is no hiding from Barack Hussein Obama’s real name. The Democratic Party’s favorite political son novice and Presidential hopeful has purposefully been trying to conceal his unelectable name since his advent to the national scene. Catapulted to the forefront of his party and the stratospheres of popularity based upon his good looks, strong command of the English language, and reletively infinitesimal carreer, Obama tactically omits the portion of his name often overlooked by most to avoid scrutiny. Instead of wearing his name as a badge of honor, he plays the role of ambitious leader and sacrifices his birthright for political salvage.
What other cause might he have for seldom mentioning his name? Why wouldn’t any media outlet bring this up? The aforementioned link from CNN’s Barbara Walters explains that political advisors considered changing his name but it’s to late. Such is the tradition with liberals. John Kerry, former Presidential candidate - that’s not his real name (look it up). So why do political players need to play the name game? Electability!
It is far beyond my comprehension that it was not assumed his middle name would ever hit the headlines even faster than he did so how are they handling the damage control? Aversion.
Barack Obama should continue his fledgling political career in Illinois INHO. He doesn’t have to face the challenges of sharing the name of one of America’s most sworn enemies and a central figure in the Iraq War and sharing the audibly similar last name of the other! Barack Hussein Obama sounds to me like the FBI’s three most wanted list!
As an aside, AOL conducted a poll yesterday on the electability of Obama vs. Hillary in which he handedly was favored. His middle name was like batteries on X-Mas (not included). Also queried was the topic of is America ready for a black President. The majority was yes at 46% to my last recollection. Maybe we are ready for a black President - but one whose name is tantamount to that of Al Qaeda mastermind and Iraqi dictator?
