Popeye

Not since the great cartoon has a green leafy vegetable caused such raucous. Not since Bill Clinton was in office have I heard the phrase, "well blow me down!" Somehow, this week the largest news event in the country is spincach and e-coli.

Though only one death has occured and over a hundred "sick," stores across the fruited plain have been removing the bagged spinach from their shelves. No more salads, Olive Oil!

In America, the media can make a mountain out of a molehill comparable to what spinach does to our sailor friend. In this case, though just reporting the news, lots more than green (veggies) will be lost. What about all the money lost secondary to this hysteria? Instead of attacking an isolated few cases, they could do a segment on marijuana. It kills far more people, is far more dangerous and illegal, and kids are smoking it. Spincah, on the other hand, is one of the most healthy foods you can eat.

There are far greater things to have been hashed out in the world than spinach and Bird Flu. Do you know that one still makes headlines though its done pretty much nothing here? The Killer B's was the same way years ago. All these things happen and suddenly everyone need be in fear.
Now liberals, that's not inteneded to insinuate that 9-11 shouldn't still frighten some. That terrorist attack killed over 3,000 innocent Americans and they are still threatening us. But I think the liberals would rather catch Brutus than Osama bin Laden...especially when Popeye tosses out his spinach. Light a blunt and hope for the best.

Today's Question (Humor)

Doctorrick, do you support a one party system?

Yes, if it means abolishing the Democratic party.

Costume

This article says volumes about John Kerry. Aside from being one of the best I'd ever read, it offers much insight into the left's agenda and psyche as a rational thinker could handle for an afternoon. Still doing yard-sale speeches to small crowds in rural America, the former woulda-shoulda-couldacrat continues to make very telling claims and shares some thoughts about his, if I can borrow this from slick Billy, "virtual obsession" with becoming President.

Back in reality, one onlooker says, "I always liked what he stood for but felt that he was very snobbish and arrogant." That's him, alright! Actually, that's pretty much all Dumbacrats. But let's continue...

"I think I’d be a good president...I don’t care what the dominant, conventional wisdom is today; it will not be the dominant, conventional wisdom in a year,” he commented following questions about the sessile grip Hillary's tentacles supposedly have on the nomination. But America did NOT think so, Mr. Big Ketchup. And unlike the Clinton brand, you are as boring as Al Gore and as much a loser.

In commenting on the states he lost during the 2004 election he commented, “If I were lucky enough to do it again, I’m going to make sure we’re campaigning in way more states.” This not only illustrates CLEARLY that the electoral college serves a vital purpose liberals but it also shows that Dumbacrats only care about VOTES not the VOTERS! I don't think he could have said anything dumber if he wanted to ("I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it").

Note to readers: he IS still married... Having reminded you of her, he maked this comment about the Swift Boat Veterans, "I’m prepared to kick their ass from one end of America to the other...I am so confident of my abilities to address that and to demolish it and to even turn it into a positive.” So basically he's saying that he's had 4 years to think of a clever way to spin it, to come up with a defense of his anti-American sentiment and to repackage his mistakes.

As always, blame for the 2004 election is still something Kerry has yet to cling to. As most Dumbacrats just find one thing, he has blamed many things. Included, he claims that the lack of money is what led to his loss. He didn't get the message out to everyone. Quite the opposite, my friend. People DID get the message. That's why you DIDN'T get the votes!

Sharing in his financial troubles, AIR AMERICA'S bankruptcy is plaguing other Kerry supporting liberals. Al Franken has not seen a Franklin in some time. "We do know that there have been cash-flow problems. I haven't been paid in a while. Like, there's no cash flowing to me." Awe. Now they can blame the media. The liberals are going to use this to try and reintroduce the fairness doctrine, I can see it. When will they realize that the ratings don't come because no one wants to hear them? Kerry included...Americans DO NOT WANT TO HEAR HOW BAD IT IS TO LIVE HERE. Patriotism is not one who serves a couple months and thinks they're now entitled to respect. Nor is it one who throws their medals away and claims it was someone else's (shouldn't he have respected them even more in that case?).

The moral of the story: Despite the impending Hillary nomination and unmatched fundraising capacity...John Forbes Kohn still wants to be President. Well JFK, Halloween is coming up soon...

More Good News

Since the media detests George Bush, I'll be the bearer of good news. The federal budget is running lower than expected and down from recent inflated estimates. This means that not only is the American economy improving post 9-11 and with new markets, but also that the tax cuts benefits can more clearly be illustrated. Though this deficit is based on the rate of spending at this time last year (in comparison) we can still see, clearly, that the Bush Administration is working hard to balance our budget while also waging a significant war.

Amidst the good news comes the appeal by the liberals who think every positive is the product of smoke and mirrors or just the precursor to a negative. Even with the improvement, Democrats point to CBO forecasts that the deficit over the next decade will total $1.76 trillion as evidence that President Bush's emphasis on tax cuts has put the country on an unsustainable fiscal path.

This makes me question the Dumbacrats. What is it that they would be doing with the tax cut money? Your money? The answer: bigger government and more social spending. But there's good news to be had...

Rusty

The famous liberals with opinions club took a drastic hit this week. Though I was on an Fitzpatrick-esque hiatus, I am fortunate enough to come back right in time to comment. Following the Bush address of the nation this week, liberals in the government went right over the edge at his steadfastness concerning the war on terror. More so, his moxy in saying, "so what?" to a press question concerning the dearth of connectivity between Saddam and Al Qaeda. I like it, personally.

Harry Reid among others harped that the President was lieing blah blah blah, no new ideas, no resolutions of his own, and not even any new criticisms! Scare America is declaring bankruptcy and even though this is great news for anyone with ears and a radio, Nostradumbass is upset because he thought this would have happened long long ago. Gloria Stienem, Jane Fondumb, and Rosie O'Meatball will be launching their own radio station soon to fill the void in liberals brains with even more hot air. The Dipsy Chicks called Bush a dumb f--- in a new video. The tasteless, classless, talent-free 6 breasted trio must want their sales to plummet - again. Though controversy is oft the impetus behind big sales and sometimes great advertisement, someone should remind them of what happened last time they spoke and songs didn't come out. Katie Courific ratings...down. The fem anchor who brings liberal women to the forefront of the mainstream media represents nothing more than a disappointment to the news and good news for conservative talk radio and FNC. And finally, George Clueless will be addressing the UN on DARFUR's humanitarian crisis. Though his intentions are noble he is still a huge liberal.

Sorry I am so rusty,...I had a few trying days.

A Penn State Education

There is a reason I was reluctant to comment on this seasons Lions. Even though I went to the first game and thought they looked pretty good, I wasn't sure of how they would pan out this year. Against the defending MAC champs, the Akron Zips, PSU looked good on both sides of the ball. Yesterday, they looked like Nanticoke High School.

Notre Dame and Penn State is a classic rivalry that has not been played since 1992 where ND won in a close game. The series, after last nights blow out, favors ND 9-8-1.

So what happened? Charlie Weis outcoached Joe Paterno - big time. Anthony Morelli looked good but showed his inexperience with poor decision making as QB. Though the Penn State offense played well their penalties and errors caused them to score zero by the half.

On the other side of the ball Penn State shouldn't have shown up. Their rookie and seemingly nonexistent secondary was picked apart by Brady Quinn who commented, "there were holes all day." Sure were. I don't recall any particular play where a ND receive caught a pass with a PSU player within 10 feet (other than a missed interception). To have followed the ND GT game last week you'd expect that the PSU defensive coordinator would have recognized the weakness in ND's offense was defending the pass rush. PSU blitzed practically NEVER and Quinn sat in the pocket long enough to bake a cake.

On special teams, PSU looked terrible. They returned punts and kickoffs and got nothing. Their kicking was pathetic and they botched a snap - again.

Overall, PSU showed that they didn't belong on the field. Nothing more, nothing less. The former pro football coach showed Paterno that to compete now-a-days, you have to play smart, aggressive, risky, and confident. Kicking field goals instead of going for it on 4th down in their territory is not going to make up a 20 plus point deficit.

Penn State received an education last night, in football!

Ohio State, Iowa, Michigan, and the rest of the Big Ten are yet to come. Hopefully by then they'll have their stuff together.
