House of Horrors

If America were an amusement park, the House of Representatives would now be the House of Horrors. As a voting public we have given up in our will to fight terror, given our tendencies to endow others via philanthropy to socialist liberals for their exploitation, and voted our will to match that of the interests of Al-Qaeda. Congratulations to us! Or more so, congrats to those who actually exercised their right to vote and sacrificed their date with 'Dances with the Stars'.

And consider this dismaying observation: Nancy Pelosi may now be Mrs. Speaker (or Squeaker if your familiar with her crow-like shrill squeaking voice).

The Senate? A 51-49 Democratic majority is of interest to me. Do the liberals who continue to bring up these numbers consider Joe Liberman on their side? After all, in typical Democratic fashion they turned their back on him for an obedient non free thinking liberal. 50-50 could be something that the liberals haven't been anticipating.

Bush's Resolve

The one thing I admired about Bush was his unwavering resolve on issues. With the advent of Speaker Pelosi (just late for Halloween), Bush was speaking a different tune regarding his willingness to find common ground with the newly empowered Democrats.

The one thing I will not tolerate from any leader is willingness to succumb. If Bush is not steadfast on social issues (with the exception of minimum wage) and Iraq I will forever be disappointed in him. His statements that the people have spoken is accurate. They have...and they elected him based on HIS agenda! Failure to continue on the path he had been leading us on would be both regression and lack of fortitude. This is where he should be as attached to the issues as ever.

I'd rather face potential impeachment than level with the agenda of an empowered liberal House and Senate. Lame duck status to me means not doing what you were supposed to! Rumsfeld is not the fall out boy, Mr. Bush - you too will be on the DNC hitlist should you fail to comply.

Moderation was the victor in this election. Compromising with the far left does not place you in the middle.

Trump Card: Moderation

First, let me begin by saying Nostrdumbass was right. Just a few days prior to the election he confidently claimed that the Dems would regain the house and also predicted the fall of Santorum and Swann. He was wrong, however, about the Senate, Carney and Fitzpatrick - so be it.

Secondly, this election DID NOT showcase a peoples referendum against Republicans in supporting Democrats. Indeed, the people showed up to vote, but they voted moderation. Moderation, in this election, was the big victor.

Sure, Casey and others of that ilk are liberals by and large, but they displayed the guise of moderation which garnered the votes. Lieberman is the quintessential example. Others, i.e. former veterans turned Democratic diplomats did well. Make no mistake, there was no white wash! This shows that the people in America are pulling more towards the middle again instead of to the opposite poles. This is an victory for America in that regard.

With respect to the fallen Senator Santorum I bid him a thank you but not goodbye. The youthful conservative with a penchant for politics will be back in 08 as either a VEEP or as a cabinet member. Not to mention his possibly beating Spector?

I'd also like to take the moment to congratulate Lieberman for pulling through an elections where his party sailed him down the river for using his mind in voting his constituents interests of that of his party.

All throughout the nation I heard gleeful droppings here and there from the liberals, however, the absolute global celebration I anticipated did not occur. Perhaps they too are becoming more moderate? Unlikely. Maybe, they saw the victories as endorsement of their agenda? Even more unlikely. Or did they see that it was moderation who shined through? Or do they recognize this as an opportunity they may not be prepared for?

Either way, I hope America is ready for the candidates she's chosen. If I were Bush, I'd give them all the rope they need to hang themselves.
