Another Case for Profiling

Another case has been made to condone profiling when it comes to domestic and international terror suspects. Danish police arrested 3 Muslims in their twenties who were united in cause to use explosives on commandeered aircraft to kill civilians. No 85 year old grannies, just some Muslims. Racist? NOPE! In America, the ACLU would be filing the lawsuit as we speak.

It was believed these America loathing Muslims were connected to al-Qaeda and plotted for their terror to transpire this 9-11. Sick, twisted, and undeniably catastrophic if they had been successful. Thankfully, they were stopped prior to the destruction.

To be a TSA agent for the airline industry today is difficult but is not the only high traffic means of travel. All sorts of agents and law enforcement need be scrupulous in their evaluation of each specific case as it may potentially be the one that they oversaw or the one that they were afraid to scrutinize. Instinct, however, is an innate trait that cannot internally and should not externally be suppressed for the fear that one might violate or offend another. Instinct, I believe, added to profiling could lead to more meaningful results, more intimidating security, and more imposing authority in America. This could be a good thing.

If your name is not readily discernible by trite pronunciation, if you are of foreign origin, if you speak a foreign language, if you posses some peculiar demeanor or decorum, if your wearing ethnic clothing covering most of your body, etc - then you should be more closely observed. All of the evil in America has regretfully shared many of the same defining characteristics.

In other words, if you don't look American you can and should be scrutinized.

United Front

It's time to be honest about Hillary Clinton: she is SCARY. What she stands for, what she represents, what she looks like, all scary. And the DNC knows she is their go to guy. The DNC is almost certain that she will be their man for the '08 election. Republicans, however, have some sort of aversion to voting for Rudy despite the fact that he's a 'what you see is what you get' politico.

In every poll I've seen for almost months Hillary is obliterating the competition. The GOP has been half as united as the Dumbacrats thus far because they can't swallow their pride and right wing agenda and nominate a right-moderate Rudy. If the Republicans truly want the election they know that Hillary will be a force to reckon with but for some reason most want to play her off as though she's all hype and I will be one of the first to tell you - she's not. She means business and she WILL play hard ball in the White House. I'm willing to sacrifice the few things Rudy is liberal on in order to prevent an all out liberal barrage following her oath of office.

Anyone who thinks I'm crazy obviously doesn't understand that there has always got to be some give and take to keep the ball in their court.

Socialized Malpractice

Taking a liberals advice on health care is like taking marriage counseling advice from Bill Clinton. I find it striking that those who know the least about the health care industry also happen to be the most opinionated as to what should be done to fix our "sick" system. Liberals believe that the panacea is the usual resolution to any problem "we'll fix it - by taking over." Band-aids only cover over the problems they don't contribute to the healing. The governments controlling of health care would be just that - a patch.

You see, my fiance recently began her latest dual Masters degree (MHA/MHE) and her first course is in medical management taught by a Masters prepared liberal with a degree in Psychology (what qualifies this guy to teach I'll never know). Their first class was spent listening to a prototypical liberal indoctrination of the case for health care INSURANCE not socialized medicine (a rhetorical synonym). This is for her...

To begin, I don't care what the WHO (World Health Organization) ranks us in the world for health care. Thirty-something?, well, you can believe that if you want, but I'm having my procedure done in the USA if I need something done. When Clinton (a liberal) needed a vacation from his wife (bypass surgery) he went to the best doctors in NYC, not Quebec.

The fundamental problem is that we spend a lot on health care per person (a few thousand) more per person than most nations who have implemented socialist medical programs and a lesser life expectancy (by a small number of years). This is caused by a combination of reasons. First, we live shorter lives because we're fat. Coronary and cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of morbidity and mortality in the country. Of course our waistlines and labile lifestyles contribute to the development of shorter life expectancy. Being the fattest industrialized nation and having one the shortest potentials of life is no coincidence. Maybe a little diet, exercise, and education would perhaps be the greatest cure to our current state of health as an American society.

Secondly, we spend tons of money on health care because our system already has a socialized emergency clause built in. No person who presents to the ER will be turned away leaving the door open to anyone, this includes illegal citizens (all 12 million of which) who cost money because they lack health care coverage and we happily pay their fees. Also contributing to this spending is the lawsuit lottery. The Powerball odds are against you for hitting it big but in the land of opportunity, filing a lawsuit against the doctors and nurses who try to treat and cure is an almost assured means of lining your pockets. Yes, I advocate for the reforming of health care suits and caps on financial awards in malpractice cases. I also believe foreign citizens are unable to file suits against our health care employees and finally, I am against punitive damages and civil suits in health care suits except for cases for gross negligence or malevolent decorum. This would cut costs tremendously and allow insurance agency's to lower fees as well as put more money where it belongs - into the economy. Liberals would also be glad to know that since lawyers [clients] winnings are tax free, there is nothing for the government to gain from allowing these runaway financial awards.

French non-fiction showcases evidence that physicians in country's of socialized medicine receive incomes of drastically less monetary sums than do those in America. This is a disincentive to those interested in practicing medicine as there is seemingly no benefit with the same amount of associated risk and investment in the medical education.

Construction of a universal health care system would mean turning over our health to the government. This is ironic for liberals considering the criticisms they have on the current Administration over almost any circumstance and event. Somehow, the very government they believe "cannot control Iraq, cannot handle natural disasters, cannot fix gas prices, cannot find energy Independence, cannot amicable negotiate foreign relations, handling social security, and cannot adequately educate our youth" is somehow going to be revolutionary in handling our health care. Right.

The tax increase which would be levied against those of us with wealth would further damage the system. Americans already are punished by a government who cannot control its spending on pork-barrel political garbage. I am happy with my current state of health and I am currently unhappy about how much taxes I pay already. Tax increase, the liberal mantra, is nothing more than punishment to the successful. Truth be told: if your not successful, your either not motivated or your not smart enough to figure out how to improve your own circumstance by conscious endeavour - not my fault. The government already makes a crazy amount of money and spends it recklessly. It is their own fault that we have created an entitlement society. Our entire welfare system is laden with loopholes and is in dire need of overhauling.

The creation of the welfare state health care not only punishes the successful by means of taxation but it also cuts the salary of other health care employees as the government will allocate certain salaries for certain jobs. Globally, this would put the government into recession as all practicing physicians and nurses would either quit or boycott this regime. There essentially would be no health care in America and we would then rightfully come in at dead last!

The welfare health care system would be an impediment to the necessary needs of the community and cause a problem related to the aforementioned. Doctor's offices would become incapacitated like a supermarket on Sunday after Church (does not count for liberals) prior to an impending blizzard. In other words, if you needed medical attention [unless life threatening] you would be placed on the list. Canadians already cross the borders into states like New York to get medical attention in our ER's. Why do we suppose this is?

When financial incentive is subverted what happens to the quality of the product? It becomes lackluster and diminished. With the American system of capitalism destroyed, this would define your medical treatment: the bare minimum. Why? Because the government would most likely establish clauses that standardize triage. Defensive medicine practice, another theory which argues in favor of tort reform, would most likely be eliminated as the government would no longer allow you to sue it! This is ironically the same as my recommendation for reform without more government bureaucracy.

The bleeding hearted liberals just want to help those poor unfortunate souls who don't have health insurance in America (roughly, over 30 million). Well, if you get up, get a full time job with benefits, get an education, and get in shape you shouldn't have many problems should you? And don't tell me you can't afford an education - the government will subsidize you. Henry David Thoreau once said, "I know of no more encouraging fact than the unquestionable ability of man to elevate his life by a conscious endeavour."

America is the leading country in the world for medical research, pharmaceutical research and development, and physicians. The WHO is not kidding anyone. To advocate for a system of socialized medicine is not only a flawed concept it is potentially dangerous to our health care and our economy. I want the government to do its job as outlined within the articles which establish the laws of our country. I don't need a babysitter.

There is so much more detail to this argument that stratifying the who thing would render me sleepless. That's enough for now.

The Wrong Choice and Important Things Unsaid

Don't get me wrong, elections aren't all about politics. Which is exactly why the conservatives are dead wrong on Fred Thompson. The soon-to-be Presidential hopeful who has even some of my closest allies swooning is not the man for the GOP. As Grand Elephant, I can assure you that even though he seems like the man on the issues he doesn't have the power to pull in voters like the Clinton Machine. In politics and popularity, the only man who stands to keep the GOP in the running is Rudy. Republicans must get over their extreme right base and realize that he's their only shot at keeping her OUT. Plus, knowing his political views is of benefit (what you see is what you get!) as opposed to Thompson who you really don't know what he'd do on all issues (anyone can talk a big game).

The key to the Rudy campaign then is to acquire a true conservative running mate to appease the base. This need be a man with staying power, experience, good looks, and a track record. A statesman like Santorum (or any other Republican) would assure not only Rudy's New York but also PA and most others. By and large, Rudy is the man to keep the GOP in the oval office.

The most important issue which will be instrumental in defining this election [I believe] is the choice of a VP. A primary example is the current Administration. Cheney is not running for - nor would he be a suitable candidate for Presidency. The next GOP President needs to have someone able to be themselves a candidate in 2016. This is why I suggested someone with more youth.

The GOP has a host of individuals who would make excellent additions to any candidacy. Tom Ridge, who many thought would have been Bush's VP in 2000, is an experienced conservative well like and respected in the political arena. He is currently involved with John McCain. Newt Gingrich, who many believe will announce his own candidacy for President, is my personal choice of all candidates for President. However, because he is as polarizing as Hillary and a million times smarter than even myself, he would be a great VP for anyone. He has authored articles with Rudy and advised Fred Thompson in political decisions so who knows. Other rumored candidates include Lamar Alexander, Mike Huckabee, Jeb Bush (another bad choice for this election), Condi, and Rudy as a VP (also, a great addition to ANY campaign).

My personal preference: NEWT/RUDY.

My winning combo: RUDY/NEWT.

My prediction for liberal candidates: Hillary/Bayh.
Best chance for liberals to win: Hillary/Edwards.
Worst chance for liberals: Al Gore doing anything.

And finally, some time ago (read the posts) I predicted a defecting Republican would be a good addition to a liberal campaign. The following day, Bloomberg defected. I don't think he would join any campaign, though. Be on the lookout for a potential McCain defection and joining with Hillary (yes, he would!).
